Commi Waiter / Runner
We are looking for one 'swift on their feet' Commi Waiter to join us on a part-time basis. The purpose of the position is simple;
- Run food and drinks swiftly, correctly, and cleanly.
- Clear tables swiftly.
- Reset tables swiftly, cleanly and correctly.
It's named 'runner' for a reason - you need to have hustle. You are to be spacially aware of what is happening, and alert as to where diners are and what their table needs.
You will be equipped with a vibrating watch that tells you when food is ready to be picked up and taken to the table. You need to be able to remember the dishes, the table number and the seat number to ensure that the right people get the right dish without us interrupting their conversation.
The Commi waiter is the foundation of a functioning cafe or restaurant.
The Commi Waiter isnt a person that takes orders, explain whats in each dish, makes coffees, etc. The Commi Waiter is the vehicle of delivery - both for dishes we make, but also cleaning and resetting tables for the next set of guests.
The position needs weekend availability, and the option for either 1 or 2 weekdays. So, the working contract would be for either 3 or 4 days per week - you choose.
